DECATUR — A woman told police she is confident a diamond ring valued more than $800 has been stolen from her house.
Officer Chris Copeland with Decatur Police believed the 27-year-old woman is certain of the half-carat diamond and gold ring was stolen from her apartment in the 3900 blocks of North Constant View Drive somewhere between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 10 a.m. Feb 6.
Copeland said the woman didn’t report the robbery until Friday since she had been trying to find the ring herself. “She had been searching pawn shops and was told she must file a police report,” he added.
The officer said that she informed the police about different people visited the flat who might have stolen the ring. Copeland said there wasn’t any sign of forced entry in the apartment.
